The Etter Markins Memorial Ride
Saturday, July 19, 2008 *Rain Date: Sunday, July 20 (same times)
Join in on the 10th annual motorcycle ride for Special Olympics Wisconsin Northeastern Area. The 2008 Etter Markins Memorial Motorcycle Ride & Poker Run is scheduled for Saturday, July 19. Registration begins at 9:30 am at the Oneida Travel Center on Old Hwy 29 (Hwy 29, Exit 246). Opening Ceremonies begin at 11am.
The ride is named in memory of Rob Etter & Stephanie Markins, two Hobart Police Officers who were killed on July 22, 2002, in the line of duty. They had been parked on the side of the road when they were intentionally rammed by another vehicle. As is tradition, the 2008 Motorcycle Ride offers participants a chance to honor the two fallen officers as together we ride past the site of their memorial.
