Spread the Word to End the Word: March 2, 2011
On March 2, 2011, thousands of schools and organizations across the nation helped to Spread the Word to End the Word. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the hurtful and harmful effects of the use of the R-word, "retard(ed)," in hopes to build communities of respect, dignity, and understanding.
While the official R-Word Campaign day has ended, unfortunately the R-word has not. Be sure to join the forces and go to
www.r-word.org and pledge today to stop the derogatory use of the R-word.
If you would like more information about how you can get involved with the campaign, contact Rebecca Masephol at RMasephol@specialolympicswisconsin.org or 800-704-1614.
