More than 20 members of the Green Bay Packers’ offense and defense had a ball playing together, but this time, it was off the football field and on the softball field as Donald Driver took on the Brett Favre Annual Offense versus Defense match up with $5,000 from the proceeds going to Special Olympics Wisconsin.
The event, held on June 15, was held at the Timber Rattler’s stadium in Appleton with an almost sold-out crowd of 5,000 fans and beautiful sunny weather. Special Olympics athletes Geralyn Hoffmann and Brenda Fieck from the Appleton area were given the honor of presenting the line up cards before the game. The defense scored a big win over the offense in the extra inning with a score of 23-21! Now it’s on to more serious practices with the football in hand and softball and bat out.
