Fans Wanted at Special Olympics Wisconsin State Flag Football Tournament

Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) will host the State Flag Football Tournament in Neenah, Wisconsin for the first-time ever. Flag football is the most recent addition to Special Olympics’ menu of sports. Athletes will travel across the state to compete in a 5 vs. 5 game. 

In addition to the tournament, several football players from La Follette High School in Madison and Neenah High School’s Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will play a unified scrimmage alongside Special Olympics athletes and member of the community. During unified events, individuals with and without intellectual disabilities play together as a team, fostering acceptance, inclusion and respect.

Special Olympics volunteers will present awards on the field after each game. Fans are encouraged to attend the State Flag Football Tournament to cheer on the athletes. Volunteers wanted! Anyone interested should contact mwolfgram@specialolympicswisconsin.org or call (920) 731-1614.
