Thanks to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (WDPI) receiving a grant through the Corporation for National and Community Service, ten AmeriCorps Outreach Assistants are helping Special Olympics Wisconsin reach our goal of reaching 10,000 more athletes.
The AmeriCorps Outreach Associates are located in communities throughout the state. They will coordinate service-learning projects, start new local Special Olympic agencies, tutor students and recruit and manage volunteers. SOWI is collaborating with several other organizations on the placement of the AmeriCorps members.
