National Volunteer Week

April 12, 2016

Special Olympics Wisconsin is happy to recognize National Volunteer Week, April 10 – 16. Each year, over 11,000 volunteers donate their time to help Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes. Our volunteers attend practices, work tournaments, and offer assistance at events. The compassion displayed by our volunteers is truly astounding!

Every year, Leanne RichterSpecial Olympics Wisconsin recognizes one volunteer for going above and beyond. Our most recent recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award was Leanne Richter, of Polk County Special Olympics. As an Agency Coordinator, coach and volunteer for the past 14 years, Leanne spends countless hours organizing fundraisers and coaching bowling, bocce and swimming. Congratulations, Leanne, on receiving this prestigious award, and thank you for your dedication to Special Olympics Wisconsin!

On behalf of Special Olympics Wisconsin, thank you to all of the volunteers for your hard work and dedication. We would not be able to help over 10,000 athletes get onto the playing field without you!
