Are you a fan of courage? Are you a thrill seeker? Do you want to face your fears and be a hero and go Over the Edge for our local Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes?

Be one of a few and proud to go Over the Edge for Special Olympics Wisconsin by rappelling off one of Milwaukee’s tallest downtown buildings.

What is Over the Edge?

Here’s a chance to rappel down or send someone you know rappelling down a tall building. All for a great cause - Special Olympics Wisconsin - a wonderful organization that touches so many lives throughout our state.

Rappellers must raise a minimum of $1,500. Rope times will be assigned once the minimum fundraising requirement is met. Participants will receive exclusive Over the Edge gear and the opportunity to earn incentives. To participate you must weigh a minimum of 110 lbs and be under a maximum of 300 lbs. Must be 18 years of age on the day of the event. Previous experience not required.

Go Over the Edge yourself!

To be a participant, you must first raise the minimum of $1,500 for Special Olympics Wisconsin. We are pretty sure you have family members, co-workers, friends (or enemies) who would gladly contribute to send you Over the Edge, and raise money for 10,000 Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes at the same time!

Put your rational fears aside to rappel for Special Olympics Wisconsin!

Over the Edge will allow you to work alongside a professional team to assist you the entire way down. No prior rappelling experience is required. All rappel participants will be treated like VIPs while supporters cheer them on during their thrilling descent. And all proceeds go to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Toss your Boss or someone else!

Here’s a unique opportunity: rally your co-workers to "Toss your Boss" Over the Edge. Or choose somebody else to go Over the Edge for the minimum registration amount. Catapult a co-worker. Propel a pal. Fling a family member. Cast your coach. The possibilities are endless. And, it’s easy to set up a donation site online!

How can I go Over the Edge?

Step One: Sign Up Online

Once you Sign Up Online, you will create a fundraising web page where friends and family donate with a credit card.

After you Sign Up Online, you can:

  • Upload a photo or add a message to your web page
  • Use e-mail tools to communicate with friends and family
  • Collect and track online credit card donations

Step Two: Raise the minimum registration amount

Fundraising is easy with our online tools. Research has proven that the more e-mails, facebook messages and letters you send out, the more you can raise for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Step Three: Reserve your rappel spot

Once you've raised the minimum registration amount, the Special Olympics Wisconsin staff member in charge of your Over the Edge event will contact you to reserve a rappel spot.

Step Four: Turn in your donations, sign a waiver and go Over the Edge

  • Sign a waiver - Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event

  • Invite your supporters to watch your thrilling descent as you harness up and go Over the Edge

Incentive Prizes

  • Just for hitting the $1,500 minimum, everyone will receive a jacket .

  • If you get to $2,500, you will receive a three-month membership to Adventure Rock for a family of four! You can practice your rappelling skills for months after the event!

  • Anyone reaching $5,000 will have a videographer follow them around beginning with the registration process all the way until your feet hit the ground. You will receive the video so you can prove to everyone your accomplishment!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the first ever Over the Edge Milwaukee event. For our first year, 51 Edgers participated helping raise about $36,000 for Special Olympics Wisconsin.
