Renee Capetto crowned as 2016 Miss Remarkable

August 1, 2016

La Crosse, WI (WXOW) – The 2016 Miss RemarkAble Pageant took place Saturday evening, the second year of the pageant put on by Riverfront Inc.

Ten contestants competed for scholarships tonight but the goal, more so than the competition, is to learn poise, confidence, and to discover new skills and abilities. Miss Wisconsin made an appearance along with News 19’s Heather Armstrong as the master of ceremonies. Riverfront Inc. President and CEO Mary Kessens said seeing these young women shine is what it’s all about.

“I think that there are lots of people out there that think that they don’t have skills and abilities or talents,” said Kessens. “And women with disabilities are no different. It’s important to them to be a part of the community [and] to discover those things.”

The results from Saturday’s pageant are in, and the 2016 Miss RemarkAble has been crowned. Congratulations to Renee Capetto and the rest of the 2016 Miss RemarAble pageant’s titleholders.

Renee has been an athlete with Special Olympics Wisconsin since 2001 competing in Powerlifting, Bocce, Gymnastics, Bowling, Swimming and Alpine Skiing and served in the LETR state council.
