More than 120 athletes will compete in four sports at the 2024 Winter Games in Wausau. Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoe Racing competitions will be held at Nine Mile Forest. Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding competitions will be held at Granite Peak.
WINTER GAMES UPDATE – 1/30/24
Due to inadequate trail conditions, Special Olympics Wisconsin has made the difficult decision to cancel all competition at Nine Mile Forest (Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoe) for the 2024 Winter Games.
All events scheduled for Saturday evening are also cancelled.
As of now, all competition at Granite Peak (Alpine Skiing & Snowboarding) will proceed as planned.
