La Crosse Polar Plunge - Dippin' for a Decade

The La Crosse Polar Plunge celebrated its 10th year of plunging for Special Olympics. This year’s plunge was once again held at Black River Beach, La Crosse on March 1, 2008. Special Olympics Wisconsin would like to thank the 1,130 Plungers who helped raise over $155,000 in the La Crosse Polar Plunge for Special Olympics!
In celebration of the 10th anniversary, four brave souls sacrificed their bodies to plunge 10 times. In addition, the plunge recognized five dedicated individuals who have plunged each year for the last 10 years.
A massive post plunge celebration took place after the event to recognize the efforts of sponsors, volunteers, athletes, and plungers. Later in the evening, Pat McCurdy was greeted by hundreds of revelers looking to celebrate the success of another great plunge year.
Without the support of local sponsors this event would not be possible. Special Olympics Wisconsin would like to thank all our generous supporters of the La Crosse Plunge.
