Quad/Graphics named "Organization of the Year"

On Thursday, June 5, 2008, Quad/Graphics was presented the Special Olympics Wisconsin Organization of the Year Award.  This award is presented annually to an organization, school group, club or business whose efforts have significantly improved the Special Olympics athlete’s experience on a local, Area or Statewide basis.

Quad/Graphics has been the Presenting Sponsor of the World’s Largest Truck Convoy since 2005 donating $15,000 annually.  Thanks to the financial support of Quad/Graphics, Wisconsin’s Convoy has continually placed in the top three in North America.

“Any time we mention that Quad/Graphics, John Drake or Chuck Karnitz are involved in our Convoy, it gives our event merit within the trucking industry because of the respect people have for the company as well as their employees,” said Julie Buedding, Special Olympics Wisconsin Director of Development, Law Enforcement Torch Run.  “Both John and Chuck have been members of this committee from the very beginning and this event would not be possible without their support.”

“I got involved with Special Olympics because it’s a great organization, with a great cause,” John Drake says. “Helping athletes is just the right thing to do.”

The World’s Largest Truck Convoy event is a national one-day celebration of the trucking industry to help raise money for Special Olympics.  The Convoy brings together truckers with law enforcement assisting as escorts of the Convoy, traveling on Highway 41, north from the Pioneer Travel Plaza in Richfield to the EAA Grounds in Oshkosh.  Wisconsin’s Convoy will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2008.  Click here for more information or to register on-line or contact Julie Buedding at 608-222-1324 Ext. 213.
