Location: Bowl-A-Vard Lanes, 2121 E Springs Drive, Madison
Join us in Madison at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes for our second annual Project UNIFY Bowling Tournament! Bowlers with and without intellectual disabilities will compete and play together in this unified sports event.
This year will offer two models of Unified Sports® to meet all school interest levels:
1. Unified Sports® Recreation: Schools can attend with any number of active Project UNIFY students, with a goal of 25% participation by students with ID (intent forms will help us determine if we need to limit participation by each school). These students will rotate on provided lanes and the number of games played will depend on overall participation numbers.
2. Unified Sports® Competition: SOWI will offer competition for doubles (pairs consisting of one student with ID and one student without ID). Each double will need to complete nine games prior to competition and submit the nine game average score prior to competition. Doubles will be divisioned based on their average qualifying score to ensure fair competition. Each double will bowl three games at competition. Official SOWI Bowling rules will be used. Awards will be given for 1-8 place in each division. Uniforms are not necessary, but students may choose to wear school colors/t-shirts.
All schools wishing to participate in the SOWI PU HS Unified Bowling tournament MUST turn in the Intent to Play form by Friday October 31, 2014. All Team registrations (including Athlete & Coaching participation forms and rosters) must be turned in by the registration deadline of November 7.
