Description: A Health Messenger is a Special Olympics athlete or unified partner who has been trained to serve as a health and wellness leader, educator, advocate and role model within their Special Olympics communities and the community at large. The Athlete Health Messenger workshop focuses on the Fit5 Curriculum (hydration, nutrition and physical activity), and strong minds.

Strong Minds aims to educate coaches and athletes on how to incorporate mindfulness exercises into athletic practices, competition and one’s everyday life. Find out more »Special Smiles® (funding provided by Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation) performs dental screenings to increase awareness of oral health. At the screening, dentists and hygienists identify oral problems, and athletes are provided with hygiene education as well as a “goody-bag” with dental care items and, if appropriate for the sport the athlete participates in, a free fitted mouth guard! Athletes can receive a fluoride varnish application!
Find out more »The HEAR WI Mobile Audiology Clinic (MAC) will be available for free hearing screenings at the State Fall Games on September 7th! MAC be parked next to the entrance at the Woodside Sports Complex on Saturday from 10am-3pm for athletes, coaches, family and friends to receive a free hearing screen. HEAR WI staff are also available for hearing aid checks/cleaning.

Find out more »The 2024 Special Olympics Wisconsin Bowling regional competition will culminate in the State Bowling Tournament, held December 7-8 in Wausau.
