After a year of mostly virtual fundraisers and community events, we’re excited to return in person for some of our most popular running events this late summer/early fall!
Our incredible supporters from the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Wisconsin are eager to get back out there for their Final Legs. SOWI fans will be hitting the pavement in Janesville on July 20, while La Crosse-area law enforcement will run their Final Leg on July 31. Those participants can cap things of with a La Crosse Loggers baseball game!
On August 6, runners and bikers in the Madison and Kenosha areas will showing support for our athletes along fun and diverse routes. There’s sure to be something for everyone so find your Final Leg today!
After going virtual in 2020 due to COVID-19, we are thrilled to announce the return of the in-person Buckshot Run in 2021. The 40th Annual Buckshot Run is presented by WIN Technology.
This year, Eau Claire’s oldest running event will include a 2-mile race on Tuesday, August 31 and 2- and 5-mile options on Saturday, September 4 in Carson Park. Saturday’s event also includes a kid’s dash that is free to children 5 and under. Both Buckshot Run days will have concessions, music and an awards ceremony following the race.
Run With The Cops
Another SOWI favorite that we’re sure many fans will be excited to hear is returning is Run With The Cops, presented in partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Fans can once again glow from head to toe during this unique night run on October 5 at UW-River Falls or on October 7 at UW-Oshkosh or in Wisconsin Rapids.
Unlike any fun runs you’ve ever experienced, Run With The Cops events feature glow stations with glow goodies to light your way on the run, obstacle courses for the kids, donut-eating contests, and of course, awesome swag.
We have plenty of ways for you to get outside and get active with us in the coming months, all while supporting our incredible athletes. So join us and Run for SOWI!
