Run with the Cops is a night, glow run hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) to support the athletes of Special Olympics Wisconsin. The mission of the LETR is to increase awareness and raise funds for the Special Olympics movement. Their involvement helps to change the lives of 10,425 athletes across the state, athletes like Nickie and Danie Brunner.

Nickie and Danie are twin sisters who have been involved with Special Olympics Wisconsin for 25 years. They participate in swimming, volleyball, basketball, bowling and softball—just to name a few. Since they joined SOWI when they were nine years old, they have competed in every one of Special Olympics sports seasons. The girls have collected an impressive collection of medals and ribbons.

The two also attend fundraisers and special events throughout their area. Last year, Nickie and Danie participated in the Eau Claire Run with the Cops alongside their teammates from Eau Claire Adult Special Olympics. They joined others in attendance by glowing from head-to-toe as they participated in the 5K run/walk.

Join Special Olympics Wisconsin, and athletes like Nickie and Danie Brunner, this fall and register for Run with the Cops. Not only will it be a night packed with glow items and fun, but it will also be a chance to make an impact in the lives of more than 10,000 Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes.
