There’s still time to join Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes, members of local law enforcement, UW-Parkside students and members of the community for the 5th annual Run With The Cops at UW-Parkside on May 11, 2019.

In this fun and unique night run, participants illuminate the course with flashing necklaces, glow bracelets and other glow items. Law enforcement vehicles will also be there to help light up the course with flashing blue and red lights. Registration for the event will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be a Kid’s Dash starting at 8:30 p.m. followed by a 5k Run/Walk at 9:00 p.m. Throughout the night, law enforcement will have emergency vehicles to tour and SWAT gear to try on.

Members of the UW-Parkside Campus Police, Racine County Sheriff, Kenosha PD, Caledonia PD and the Law Enforcement Torch Run® have organized this event to unite the community and raise funds for Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes.

“This is not your typical 5K run/walk! This night run will light up UW-Parkside’s campus as runners and walkers will take the course decked out in glow gear,” said Caitlin Fitzpatrick, Special Olympics Wisconsin’s director of special events. “From law enforcement vehicle displays to kids’ games and face painting, this event is sure to please every member of the family.”
