Run With the Cops is back for 2021 and if you haven’t experienced this event in the past now is the time to check it out! The original concept of this event was to pull agencies from regions all over Wisconsin together and grow relationships between police and community members while supporting an exceptional organization, Special Olympics Wisconsin.
These events combine a run/walk with a “squad car show”, interactive vehicle display, kid’s run, glow stations along the run course and a few fun contests that poke fun at some law enforcement clichés – a donut eating contest, free donuts along the course, etc.
There are three different locations for Run With the Cops this year – Oshkosh, Wisconsin Rapids and River Falls. The other unique aspect of these events is that many law enforcement agencies create promotional videos that create excitement for the event and humanize the professionals who work in those regions.
If you’re a law enforcement member and are interested in being a part of these events please get in touch with one of the organizers because they need you to make it a success. The Oshkosh event is run by Captain Chris Tarmann (firstname.lastname@example.org), the River Falls event is run by Hannah Roehrig of Special Olympics Wisconsinand the Wisconsin Rapids event is run by Detective Eric Daven (email@example.com).
