Special Olympics Wisconsin Welcomes Newest Team Member – JoEllen Graber

Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) is pleased to announce JoEllen Graber has joined the staff as Regional Director of Development for Special Olympics Wisconsin – South Central Region 6.

As Director of Development, Graber’s responsibilities include raising funds through events and corporate partnerships; developing new fundraising opportunities; and coordinating two key Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) events: the Law Enforcement Torch Run® and Polar Plunge®.

Graber worked with nonprofit organizations to host fundraisers in her position as Sales and Marketing Manager  at Vitense Golfland. During her time at Vitense Golfland, Graber worked with non-profits such as the Autism Society and the Dane County Humane Society. Graber is experienced in coordinating national events, managing sales, creating marking campaigns and maintaining websites.

Graber values the opportunities SOWI offers. She personally witnessed the impact the has to offer after watching her cousin, an athlete for over 40 years, compete.

“Special Olympic athletes have always been an inspiration,” Graber said. “I look forward to working with and raising funds for such a deserving group of people.”

Graber graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a B.A. in public relations and a minor in advertising.
