SOWI is extremely sorry to inform our athletes and volunteers/personnel that The State Winter Games have been canceled for this weekend. The weather for northern Wisconsin has been uncooperative this past week and has caused school cancellations and dangerous travel conditions. There is a high chance of rain throughout the weekend that will continue to create dangerously icy conditions at our Winter Games venues. Due to athletes and personnel traveling throughout the state, caution needs to be taken when it comes to everyone’s safety. Attempting to host the event may lead to safety issues, or issues with the quality of the event. SOWI apologizes for this unfortunate decision as it is in best interest of our participants.
