Cynthia lives in Milwaukee and she is the elder stateswoman of Team Wisconsin, having been a Special Olympics athlete since 1970. In addition to bocce, she also competes in basketball, snowshoeing, tennis, and volleyball. She is one of the most accomplished athletes in Special Olympics Wisconsin history: she has competed in multiple USA and World Games, she was the Special Olympics International Female Athlete of the Year in 1991, she became the first athlete to serve on the organization’s Board of Directors, she is a published author and she previously traveled the world as an International Global Messenger for Special Olympics. In 2016 she was the first athlete inducted into the Dennis H. Alldridge Hall of Fame. Her favorite Special Olympics memory is carrying the United States flag in during the Opening Ceremony of the 1995 World Games with Olympic gold medalist Dan Jansen.
