17 Players from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Women’s Basketball Team worked with Special Olympic athletes throughout Region 4 to enhance their basketball skills through various drills and games. Coach Brad Fischer, Assistant Coach Kelly McNiff and 17 members of the UW-Oshkosh basketball team coached the athletes through passing, shooting and various defensive drills. After putting the athletes through their paces, they mixed things up by combining the UWO players and Special Olympic athletes in a full court game.
This has been the fifth year for this event and comments form the players, coaches, athletes and those watching feel that everyone involved continue to grow from this event. “We are looking forward to next year already” said Coach Fischer.
