2022 is a Special Year for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

50 years ago, we set out to create a more accepting world for individuals with ID.

Now, we are one of Wisconsin’s premier sports organizations, providing opportunity and support to athletes with intellectual disabilities (ID). Special Olympics Wisconsin empowers individuals with ID to experience the hard work, thrill, excitement and satisfaction of being an athlete through sports, health, education and leadership. Through our successful 50-year history of eliminating barriers and providing inclusive opportunity, Special Olympics Wisconsin is a leader in the community and the Authority of Inclusion.

Join us as we recognize 50 years of changing lives

Waukesha, WI

We will unite 1,700 athletes and coaches from communities across the state, 1,100 volunteers and 5,000 spectators at our largest sports competition to date. Together, we will cheer on athletes of all abilities,  celebrate inclusion and experience the magic of Special Olympics.

In addition to members of the Special Olympics Wisconsin community (all athletes, coaches, parents/caregivers, volunteers, supporters and fans), the community is invited to attend this family-friendly three day event! Check out the Celebration Games schedule.
