Charitable Gift Annuities – Give and Receive

June 2, 2014

  • Do you have certificates of deposit (CDs) that have a return of less than 4%?
  • Are you comfortable with your retirement income now, but nervous about your income in the future?
  • Do you have a parent or sibling whom you would like to support with a reliable stream of income?

If you are age 65 or older and answered yes to any of these questions, then a charitable gift annuity may be a good option for you.

A charitable gift annuity is a way to give a gift of support to Special Olympics and still receive an income for yourself or others. In return for a minimum gift of $10,000, Special Olympics agrees to pay a fixed sum of money for a lifetime. You can establish an immediate payout that begins now, or defer your payments for a number of years.

But most importantly, with a charitable gift annuity you provide for your future and also leave a legacy of acceptance, tolerance and inclusion for Special Olympics athletes.
