The Dennis H. Alldridge Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding individuals who have made a significant impact to the mission and who have contributed in extraordinary ways to the statewide success of Special Olympics Wisconsin.
Dennis (Denny) H. Alldridge served as President & CEO of Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) from 1989-2016. During this time, SOWI grew to be one of the leading programs in the world. In 2011, Denny was recognized as one of eight Special Olympics CEO’s as Legendary Leaders who demonstrated extraordinary vision and made significant impact and contributions to the growth of the Special Olympics movement. The Special Olympics Wisconsin Dennis H. Alldridge Hall of Fame was created to recognize outstanding individuals who have made a significant impact to the mission and who have contributed in extraordinary ways to the statewide success of Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Dennis H. Alldridge Hall of Fame Nomination Process
Criteria: A nominee’s involvement shall demonstrate a sustained and significant leadership contribution to the Special Olympics movement. The minimum requirement to be considered for this award is at least five (5) years of participation in the Special Olympics Wisconsin program. Current and former staff are excluded.
Nominations and Submissions: Any individual, agency or committee may submit nominations for consideration.
Selection: Selection for induction will be determined by a committee consisting of SOWI staff members and representatives of the Alldridge family.
Process: Two (2) nominees, one with and one without an intellectual disability, will be selected annually for induction into the Dennis H. Alldridge Hall of Fame. Nominees who are not selected will remain in consideration for two (2) additional years. At the end of two (2) years, nominees’ files will be removed unless re-nominated.
Awarding: The two (2) inductees will be announced and inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Special Olympics Wisconsin 50th Anniversary Celebration Games Opening Ceremony, July 29 at Carroll University in Waukesha. Inductees will be informed prior to the Celebration Games to ensure attendance. Each inductee will receive a commemorative Dennis H. Alldridge Hall of Fame medal, an engraved Hall of Fame watch, their name added to the perpetual Dennis H. Alldridge Hall of Fame plaque which is displayed at SOWI’s state office, announcement on SpecialOlympicsWisconsin.org and listing on the Dennis H. Alldridge Hall of Fame webpage.
