Dr. Michael Clark, Emergency Medicine Physician at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital Joins Special Olympics Wisconsin Board of Directors

Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) is pleased to announce Dr. Michael Clark, Emergency Medicine Physician at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital, has been appointed to the Board of Directors.

“Michael will be a voice for the health and wellness,” said Missy Schoenbrodt, Director of Wellness Initiatives. “He will advocate for athletes best interests and his expertise will ensure the well-being of all our athletes.”

For the past nine years, Dr. Clark has served as the Medical Director for Special Olympics Wisconsin, coordinating medical coverage at all five state games held throughout the year. Dr. Clark also serves as the MedFest Clinical Director, a Healthy Athletes® discipline he helped launch in Wisconsin to ensure that athletes have access to a free physical exam once a year.

“Í am interested in using my medical background and experiences with Special Olympics Wisconsin to further develop the mission and programs of SOWI,” said Dr. Clark.

Dr. Clark graduated from Marquette University’s College of Health Sciences and received their Young Alumnus of the Year award in 2011. Dr. Clark graduated from the Medical College of WI in 2006 with his Doctor of Medicine.  He was recognized with the Medical Director Award from Ministry Saint Clare’s EMS Recognition Event in 2010 and was recognized 2013 Wausau Daily Herald Twenty Under Forty. Dr. Clark serves as the EMS Medical Director for Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital and as a base Medical Director for Ministry Spirit Medical Transportation. He is the Medical Director and Firefighter for the Schofield Volunteer Fire Department.
