Meet Team Wisconsin Athlete, Elizabeth Wrensch

May 13, 2014

Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) selected Elizabeth Wrensch of Clayton as one of 62 athletes to represent Team Wisconsin at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games in Princeton, New Jersey on June 14-21, 2014. Wisconsin athletes will compete in athletics, aquatics, bocce, bowling, flag football, gymnastics, powerlifting and volleyball.

Wrensch, who has been involved with SOWI since 2002, participates in basketball, bocce and bowling. In her spare time, Wrensch loves to keep busy, fixing and selling cars, something she feels sets her apart from most 26 year old women. She hopes competing at the USA Games will prepare her for future, high-level competitions, like the upcoming 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.

“Through Special Olympics, I have met new people and made new friends,” said Wrensch. “I love to compete and I enjoy when other athletes help push me to work harder.”

This will be Wrensch’s first trip to the USA Games. She will compete in bocce and will be one of 90 delegates representing Team Wisconsin at the 2014 USA Games in New Jersey. Support Wrensch and her trip to the 2014 USA Games at www.SpecialOlympicsWisconsin.org/USAGames.
