Getting Around

 UW-Oshkosh Campus and Parking

All basketball competition will take place at the Kolf Sports Center, located at 785 High Ave, Oshkosh, WI. All swim competition will take place at the Albee Hall and Pool, located at 776 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh, WI.

Day commuters to the event should use Lot 15 or Lot 7 for event day parking. No overnight parking is allowed in these lots.  Click Here to view the UWO Parking Map.

Food will be available for purchase at the Kolf Concessions Stand located on the Upper Level of Kolf Sports Center.

Healthy Athletes, Education & Resources

Free Health Screenings! When athletes are in their best physical health, they train and compete at their highest level. Healthy Athletes not only provides health services and education, it also trains health care students and professionals who gain increased knowledge of and compassion for people with intellectual disabilities. ALL athletes with a current medical on file with Special Olympics, even if they are not competing at Spring Games, are welcome to attend and take advantage of these FREE screenings!

Performance Station: Performance Stations prepare athletes to compete at their best by connecting fitness to athletic performance. Athletes will receive education in nutrition, hydration, physical activity and mental toughness. With improved overall fitness, athletes, partners, coaches and family members can improve their performance in sport and health, culminating in a better quality of life.

When: Friday April 12, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Kolf Sports Center (Upper Level)

Healthy Athletes: FUNfitness: FUNfitness screenings are conducted by Physical Therapists and physical therapy students. They assess flexibility, functional strength and balance of the athlete.  After the assessment, athletes will receive a take-home booklet and education on recommended stretches/exercises personalized to them based on the results of their strength, flexibility and balance tests. While supplies last- fitness kits will be given to athletes that attend FUNfitness.

 When: Saturday April 13, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Kolf Sports Center (Upper Level)

Duration: 30-45 minutes (not including wait times)

 

Healthy Athletes: Healthy Hearing: Healthy Hearing conducts hearing screenings. Reduced hearing can have a significant negative impact on an athlete’s ability to respond to directions, as well as understand verbal information from coaches at practice and competitions. Hearing loss affects one’s safety and interpersonal relationships. A hearing screen is the first step in the process of identifying hearing loss and preventing its negative effects from occurring in sports and social events.

The HEAR WI Mobile Audiology Clinic (MAC) will be available for free hearing screenings on Saturday, April 13! MAC will be parked outside of Gruenhagen for athletes, coaches, family and friends to receive a free hearing screening. HEAR WI staff are also able to provide hearing aid checks or cleanings. To receive hearing services, stop by the Healthy Hearing check-in table located in the Library at Gruenhagen.

 

When: Saturday April 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Gruenhagen, Library on the first floor across from Strong Minds

Healthy Athletes: Strong Minds®: Strong Minds helps Special Olympics Athletes strengthen their coping skills. Competition provides a natural opportunity to develop positive and active strategies for maintaining emotional wellness under stress, such as: thinking positive thoughts, releasing stress and connecting with others.

 

 When: Saturday April 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Gruenhagen, Titan Lounge (first floor), remote screen in Albee from 12:30pm-3:30pm

Duration: 15-30 minutes (not including wait times)

 

 

 

Healthy Athletes: Special Smiles®: Special Smiles (funding provided by Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation) performs dental screenings to increase awareness of oral health. At the screening, dentists and hygienists identify oral problems, while athletes are provided with hygiene education, a “goodie bag” with dental care items, fitted mouth guards and fluoride varnish!

 When: Saturday April 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Kolf (Upper Level), remote screen in Albee from 12:30pm-3:30pm

Duration: 5-15 minutes (not including wait times)
