Sign Your Athletes Up for Free Health Screenings in April!

February 24, 2014

Did you know individuals with intellectual disabilities are more likely to have secondary health issues? Last April, Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) gave free prescription eye glasses to 80% of the athletes who participated in vision screenings at Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® in Oshkosh.

Don’t miss this chance to attend FREE vision, dental, hearing and fitness screenings from more than 100 volunteer medical professionals during this year’s Special Olympics Healthy Athletes®!

When:     Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where:     University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Gruenhagen Conference Center (Opening Eyes in the Titan       Lounge, Special Smiles in the Terrance Room, Healthy Hearing in the University Room and Fun Fitness in the Badger State Room as well as in Kolf Fieldhouse’s upper gym)

Please note that Fun Fitness is only offered at this tournament so don’t miss this opportunity! The screenings will take place in conjunction with the SOWI State Indoor Sports Tournament (IST); however, we invite ALL athletes with a current medical on file with SOWI to the screenings, even if they are not competing at IST.

Thank you to Delta Dental of Wisconsin and the Lions Club International for making Healthy Athletes possible!
