At the last Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® Special Smiles event held in Waukesha 28% of athletes  screened had untreated tooth decay!  Stop by the Special Smiles tent at the State Outdoor Sports Tournament at Carroll University on August 7, 2021 for a free oral health screening.

The Health Promotion venue includes health screenings to measure Body Mass Index  (BMI) and Blood Pressure. A fun and colorful environment will feature interactive, educational and motivational activities to encourage the athletes to improve their nutrition, keep physically active and modify their daily habits to help reduce their risk for disease and improve sport performance. Volunteers will educate athletes on the importance of good eating for healthy bodies and strong bones, physical fitness, and smoking prevention. There will be fun give-a-ways for the athletes!
