**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT**

SOWI has adopted a four (4) phased approach to return to activities. As of August 1, 2020, we are in Phase 1 – Small Group Activities:

  • Shelter in place is lifted; restriction on size of mass gatherings (10 people)
  • Activities may resume if they adhere to strict physical distancing and sanitation protocols
  • No direct or indirect contact (e.g. through a ball in the hand) should take place
  • Training activities may include only be pre-approved SOWI COVID-19 sports

2020 Cornhole Season

In-Person Competition

  1. All athletes will submit scores from two (2) games of cornhole. All cornhole athletes will register through their local agency by September 23, 2020 and be divisioned based on their scores with athletes from around the state. Athletes will then complete a final game at their agency practice and submit that score by October 9, 2020 This competition can done in Phase 1 or Phase 2.

Virtual Competition

  1. Scores will be based on points. Athletes will play 3 rounds with 4 bags. After each round the points will be marked down. At the end of all 3 rounds, the total points will be added together for the final score. Scoring is the same as in for team. 1 point for a bag completely in the hole, 1 point for a bag on the board.
  2. If you do not have official equipment you can use the following. This is only for the virtual competition. Take a piece of paper 48”x24”. Mark a 6’ circle centered
  3. nine (9) inches from the top and 12 inches from each side. Bags can be made by putting corn or rice into a sandwich bag. It needs to weigh 14-16 ounces.  Follow the same rules and scoring.
  1. All athletes that participate in Virtual Competition must submit their scores and complete the SOWI Waiver for Online Activities. Athletes will receive a participation award and recognition during the Fall Outdoor Virtual Celebration, October 14-15, 2020.
