Cornhole is the newest sport offered by Special Olympics Wisconsin. Doubles teams can compete in traditional or unified competition.
2023 Competition Options
Athletes will compete at Summer Games at UW-Whitewater on June 8-10, 2023. Teams will be assigned divisions prior to the event based on qualifying scores from the Corn Hole Assessment Test (CHAT).
Based on feedback from the 2022 State Cornhole Tournament, SOWI has changed the Cornhole event offerings moving forward.
- Level 1 – Rules remain the same. Played on a 21ft court and all bags that land on or in the board are counted for points.
- Level 2 – A more challenging event for teams of higher ability. Played on a 21ft court with points calculated by total cancellation. The difference between the total points scored by each team in a half inning will be awarded to the team with the highest score.
- Unified – Unified teams will be comprised of one athlete and one unified partner. Unified Cornhole shall be played on a 21ft court and follow the same point system as Level 2.
- Developmental – An event offering for athletes that do not have the strength to throw the corn bag the full length of a 21ft court. Developmental Cornhole shall be played on a 15ft court and follow the same point system as Level 1.
